About Us

  • 1982 - Our company is founded in Melbourne, Victoria as - ZW Engineering Pty Ltd 
  • 1999 - The Partington family buys into the company
  • 2000 - Tony Partington joins the company as Managing Director, with the task of developing the business to provide better systems and customer service.
  • 2003 - The two founding owners decided to retire and sell their remaining share of the company to the Partington family. The company's trading name was then changed to Partington Electrix to avoid the ongoing misunderstanding that the company's core business is; and has always been; Electrical Rotating Machinery repair.
  • 2004 - Move to a larger - new - modern workshop with better facilities in Pipe Rd, North Laverton, Victoria.
  • 2006 - New dynamometer AC & DC Electric Motor test unit installed - replacing the old out dated test system. The new test unit has the ability to test against manufacturers efficiency test results as well as give computer generated reports.
  • 2006 - New VPI system installed - replacing the old under sized system, providing a superior varnishing service to DC, High Voltage AC motors and all other Electric Motors as required.
  • 2007 - New Controlled Pyrolysis Burn Out Furnace installed - this gives the ability to burn out Electric Motors 'in-house' maintaining the manufacturers documented efficiencies; safe and environmentally friendly; causing no pollution of the atmosphere or the environment.
  • 2008New delivery truck purchased - giving the ability to pickup and deliver up to 5,500kg, replacing the old, tired 2,500kg truck.
  • 2009 - Upgrade to motor load testing facility,
  • 2010 - New Workshop machine tools installed - to replace the old tired units.
  • 2010 - New TIG and Pulsed MIG rotational welding equipment installed
  • 2011 - New "Latest Design" SAMATIC Automatic Digital Motor Tester installed - increasing the ability to generate more indepth testing and reporting.
  • 2011 - New "state of the art" SAMATIC automatic coil winding machine installed - allowing for faster and more precise DC and AC coil manufacture.
  • 2011 - New Coil Cut Off Machine - Electrically driven it makes clean, fast, efficient, accurate cuts of coils, without any damage to the stator laminations. Replacing the old tired unit.
  • 2011 - New Dry Ice Cleaning System - The use of dry ice cleaning on Electrical Rotating Equipment is very effective and has a large number of advantages. High and Low Voltage Electrical Motor Stators, Rotors & Windings; D.C Electric Motor Stators & Armatures as well as Generators, can all be cleaned without the risks associated with the use of water, solvents or detergents.
  • 2011 - New Compressed Air System - to replace the old under sized system.
  • 2011 - New Computer Server installed, allowing for better tracking, collection, storage and distribution of information, providing more accurate and responsive reporting. Replacing the old stand alone computer systems.
  • 2012 - New testing instruments and equipment installed.
  • 2015 - Solar panel system installed
  • 2023 - Testing Area, refurbished and updated.
